What is I Saw the TV Glow about?

Set in 1996, I Saw the TV Glow follows teens Maddy (Brigette Lundy-Paine) and Owen (Justice Smith) as they bond over their love of the young adult show “The Pink Opaque”.

With the show exploring the supernatural through the main characters Isabel and Tara, Maddy and Owen, both struggling with an unhappy family life, are sucked into the TV program’s fictional world. Maddy’s disappearance only aggravates Owen’s disillusionment, his reality cracking as days go by.

The movie is written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun. Emma Stone and her husband, comedian Dave McCary, are among the producers alongside Sam Intili, Sarah Winshall, and Ali Herting.
