Sound of Freedom plot

When a federal agent learns that a young boy he saved from ruthless child traffickers has a sister who’s still held captive, he makes a promise to save her at all costs.

He becomes determined to rescue her from a fate worse than death that he quits his job when the higher ups in the government choose to abandon the mission.

With the help of a former cartel accountant who now works tirelessly to save victims of child trafficking, he journeys deep into the jungle to rescue the boy’s sister.

While this compelling movie proves to be an effective and suspenseful call to action against the horrors of human trafficking, it’s not without controversies.

Its depiction of the sensitive subject matter becomes problematic for many reasons, mainly because the supposedly incredible true story this movie is based on is also laced with doubts and contention.

Surprisingly, the film is a sleeper hit, grossing over $200 million and surpassing box office performances of major films like Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The controversial anti-human trafficking film is directed by Alejandro Monteverde and distributed by Angel Studios.
