The English Football League Cup (EFL), also known as the Carabao Cup for sponsorship purposes, is a historic competition in England for all teams competing in the top four divisions.
The 65th edition of the EFL Cup kicks off with the First round on 13 August 2024, and concludes on 16 March 2025, with the championship Final.
The second and third rounds tend to be when most fans switch on as the Premier League clubs enter during these phases. 13 Premier League teams will enter in the second round beginning 26 August; while the other seven (those in European football competition) and will enter during the third round starting 16 September.

When is the next Carabao Cup round available to watch?
The 2024-25 EFL Cup, or simply League Cup, is also referred to as the Carabao Cup for reasons of sponsorship. It is comprised of four regular rounds followed by the Finals series. The Finals series will include the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the championship final.
In total, there will be 92 matches during the 2024-25 EFL Cup season, with the eight fourth-round winners advancing to the widely watched quarter-finals on the 16th of December, 2024. From there, the last four teams standing play in a two-legged semis for a chance to make the final and be crowned this year’s champions.
