The 2023/24 National Basketball League (NBL) has entered the final stretch, and with it comes a fresh start for the four teams competing in Australia’s highest level of domestic competition.
This season the top-end players are as talented as ever, with future NBA players filling teams across the league, including two that are potential first round selections.
A list that includes the Perth Wildcats big man Alexandre Sarr, and the Brisbane Bullets young centre Rocco Zikarsky. Likewise, the NBL’s Next Stars program have created a successful pathway for players with NBA aspiration that need a fresh start.
With all these players vying for a chance to earn a huge pay-day, watching NBL games live allows you to experience the thrilling atmosphere and intense competition first-hand.
NBL 2023/24 Broadcast and streaming rights preview
The NBL is compromised of nine teams spanning Australia and one team located in New Zealand. The teams will participate in a total of 20 rounds with the last game of the regular season taking place on 18 February, 2024.
The top two on the NBL ladder automatically enter the finals, and the teams positioned third, fourth, fifth and sixth will participate in a Play-in on 28 February, 2024. The Play-in is a brand new feature that creates an opportunity for a team that catches fire at the end of the season to make the Finals.
The Play-in is followed by the Semi-final series in early March, 2024, where the best-of-three winners will advance to the Grand Final. The Grand Final itself is a best-of-five series, and this season’s edition should conclude around the middle of March.

Where to watch the NBL Finals live in Australia
The NBL broadcast rights in Australia are shared between ESPN (Foxtel/Kayo) and free-to-air Network Ten (10 Peach/10 Play).
The 10 Network is scheduled to show two games per week, both on Sunday afternoons, on the 10 Peach channel. The games on 10 Peach will also be simulcast on the 10 Play online streaming platform.
The only exception will be round twelve, during which Network Ten will be showing just one match that Tuesday (24 December). That’s a total of 39 live regular season games available to watch on free to air.
Network Ten also has live TV right to select semi-finals and Grand Final games. These details are not available until the post-season fixtures are announced.
Alternatively, ESPN, via Foxtel, Foxtel Now, Telstra and Kayo Sports, will be televising every NBL game live while it happens.
In addition to every game live, Foxtel/Telstra will provide mini-replays of every match on the schedule, while Kayo Sports will offer full replays on-demand.
That’s a total of 140 games, plus every finals match, available to watch as they happen on TV (Foxtel/Telstra) or stream live online (Kayo/Foxtel Now).
