At this point we are now searching for a new sport that will have our sons play and ourselves interested to be involved in and the National Side of that sport will allow free to air viewings. I cant believe you say you have no control as you signed the broadcast rights. Very sad day for us and many other Australians. RIP Cricket Australia!

Sorry to hear that, we have no control over the broadcasting rights.

Unfortunately, no they won’t – the new box only exists in a satellite version (they have different tuners to cable boxes).

The reason for this is probably that down the track, Foxtel will need to migrate everyone to satellite as they’re handing over the cable network to the NBN. Also, there’s likely no “room” on the cable for the new 4K channel, which takes up a ton of bandwidth and is best delivered via satellite.

The good news for you – if you don’t mind the addition of a small satellite dish – is that Foxtel is reportedly doing the changeover from cable to satellite for free, including a free iQ4, according to people that have had it done.
