The Mandalorian’s debut coincided with the launch of Disney Plus last November 2019, making it the streaming service’s flagship show. It’s set after the fall of the Empire and before the creation of the First Order, allowing die-hard fans to further delve into the Star Wars universe. Embarking on a galactic journey with us are Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) and Grogu, whose father-and-son bond became essentially the heart of the show.
After over two years, The Mandalorian finally returns with Season 3 being confirmed to arrive in early 2023. Find out more about the new season here.

The Mandalorian Season 3 preview
In the outer reaches of the galaxy, a lone Mandalorian bounty hunter is hired to retrieve the child Grogu but instead of completing the job like he always does, he decides to go on the run to protect the infant. What comes next is a remarkable space adventure following The Mandalorian and Grogu, still widely known as Baby Yoda, whose adorable cooing we just can’t get enough of.
In the second season, Mando hunts down both Gideon and the Saber. Several new characters are also introduced, including Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan (Ahsoka Tano, who first appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars), in his quest to return Baby Yoda to its people, the Jedi.
It’s also in Season 2 that The Mandalorian removed his helmet and retrieved the legendary Darksaber, setting the stage for colossal consequences in the galactic empire in Season 3.
In Season 3, Mando and Grogu reunite and head for Mandalore, the home planet of the Mandalorians. Big conflicts are expected to hit Mando’s planet with the Darksaber still a major plot point. The new season is said to cover a bigger scope, which only means more space battles and more Mandalorians.
It’s worth noting that The Mandalorian Season 3 will pick up from after the events of The Book of Boba Fett where we saw Grogu ditching his Jedi training with Luke Skywalker and choosing Mando.
The new season features returning stars Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), and Carl Weathers (Rocky, Predator). Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa (also executive producer), and star Carl Weathers himself also return as directors.
