Leading the investigation is DCI Tom Barnaby from Seasons 1-13, then DCI John Barnaby from Season 14 onwards.

Midsomer Murders Season 23 preview
Midsomer Murders Season 23 kicks off with the murder investigation of a survivalist in his bombproof shelter. As the mystery surrounding his demise deepens, John Barnaby discovers a shocking conspiracy, ultimately revealing the great lengths people will go to escape the end of the world.
Barnaby then investigates the murder of the newest resident of a police retirement community in Episode 2, while the next episode follows several deaths that started when a couple running an organic bakery received a cake with the word “cursed” carved inside. Finally, in Episode 4, a killer strikes as a charity drag queen event approaches a conservative village.
The latest season of Midsomer Murders consists of four episodes. In the middle of all the crimes are senior police detective John Barnaby and his partner Jamie Winter, both working vigorously to identify every culprit and the motive for their actions. You can watch every episode in Australia by taking advantage of several free trials and other streaming deals.
