*Kayo subscribers are advised that starting 16th of January, Kayo Premium will no longer be available upon sign up. Subscribers of Premium will be moved to Basic between 20th of February to 13th of March, depending on their billing date. All Basic subscribers will then have 4k access starting early March.

What’s the difference between the Kayo plans?

Which plan is the best fit for you out of the three options, and what are the differences? The primary distinction is the number of screens you can simultaneously stream on. The One plan provides one stream, the Basic plan allows for streaming on two screens. While the increase isn’t significant, it can be beneficial for larger households or when multiple sporting events are taking place.

Kayo offers HD streams at 1080p quality, which is available on all plans. The quality of the stream adjusts based on your internet connection and speed. However, Kayo does not currently provide any streams in 4K resolution.

How do I upgrade my Kayo subscription?

If you want to use the Kayo Sports app on more than two devices and increase your Kayo Sports use, you can easily upgrade your Kayo One subscription to a Kayo Basic package at any time. Visit the “My Account” section of the Kayo website or app, and you’ll be able to upgrade your subscription instantly to use the simultaneous streams feature. Note that Kayo Basic subscribers are charged pro-rata for the more expensive subscription once it is activated.

Does Kayo Sports have a free trial?

Yes, Kayo Sports offers a 7-day free trial period for any of their three subscription packages. The 7 day free trial period allows you full access to check out your favourite sports before deciding to pay for a Kayo subscription.

What are Kayo freebies?

No Spoilers	Kayo’s unique “No Spoilers” mode actively blocks any reporting of final scores on the site while you’re using it. This is turned on by default, so you’ll need to turn off the No Spoilers feature to use the Key Moments feature.
Kayo Minis	Kayo Mini is an innovative feature for catching up on sporting events you may have missed. The game is compressed to 15 to 20 minutes as an added highlights package. That means you get a deeper insight and understanding of the sport than a regular three-minute highlights reel package.

Pop-Out Player	The Pop-Out Player is a convenient feature if you’re on a computer and need to look at something else while the game is on. When you click the Pop-Out Player icon on the bottom right side of the screen, it will minimize the game, so that you can have it on in the corner of the screen. This feature is only available on computers.
Match Centre	The Match Centre will appear below the match/game you’re watching when you hover it. It shows multiple other options that either directly link to or are similar to what you are currently watching. Main Event is the home of major PPV combat events in Australia, including World Championship Boxing and UFC. Previously this channel was exclusively available to Foxtel viewers, but selected events can now be accessed with Kayo. You don’t even need an existing Kayo account.

Existing Kayo customers who already have a regular Kayo subscription may use the Kayo app to choose and purchase pay-per-view combat events on Main Event. Existing Kayo subscribers can also purchase all live and on-demand features on the Main Event channel after logging in and providing all relevant personal details (e.g. current payment details).

Prices range from $20 to $60, and you’ll be paid with the same valid credit card details as your Kayo membership. Which devices can I stream Kayo on?

Kayo is constantly expanding its already impressive range of compatible devices. It currently works with both the Chrome and Firefox web browsers for PC and Mac, the Safari browser on Mac and the Microsoft Edge browser on Windows 10.

You can cast high-definition video from your computer to your TV using a Google Chromecast Ultra or the third-generation standard Chromecast. Older Chromecast devices will also work, but you’ll be limited to 720p video quality (still perfectly watchable).

Dedicated apps for iOS (11 and higher) and Android (6 and higher) mobile phones and tablets are available, along with Apple TV, Android TV for big-screen viewing. Apps for popular smart TVs and game consoles (PS4 and PS5) are also available. Just be careful if you’re live streaming on the mobile app, as the service can be pretty heavy on mobile data.

What are the alternatives to Kayo?

Optus Sport

Optus Sport primarily focuses on football and has the largest number of available matches out of any Australian streaming service. It has an extensive collection of games from The Premier League, The Champions League, The UEFA Europa League, The UEFA Nations League, and more. Stan

Stan is mainly a movie and TV streaming service but now has a sports plan, Stan Sports. It has multiple Rugby Union Leagues (Super Rugby, Shute Shield, etc.) and has access to Tennis events like Wimbolden. Unfortunately, it suffers from a lack of other sports but does have a reasonable price of $15 a month (you have to have a regular Stan subscription first).

Kayo vs Foxtel

Foxtel has traditionally been the most significant player on the Australian streaming scene. Its extensive coverage of local and international sports bundles in with other entertainment streams like movies and Netflix.

Foxtel does offer one sports-only package in its Sports HD bundle. However, this is significantly more expensive than Kayo Sports. The cheapest plan requires a 12-month contract. Go for a flexible contract, and you’ll pay as much as three times as much as you would pay for Kayo Sports, although you will get other entertainment content bundled in with your Fox coverage.
