Based on Carola Lovering’s 2018 novel of the same name, Tell Me Lies tells the story of Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco as they painfully bask in their tumultuous but intoxicating relationship that goes on for nearly a decade. Eventually, their need for each other becomes a vicious cycle that seems impossible to break, their seemingly undeniable connection turning into toxicity.
Featuring Grace Van Patten and Jackson White in starring roles, Tell Me Lies is a teenage drama that delves into toxic love, complex drama, cruel ambitions, and shocking betrayals.

Confirmed to be an eight-part instalment, Tell Me Lies Season 2 premieres with two episodes on Disney+ from Wednesday, 4 September.
One episode then streams each week afterwards, leading up to its finale on 16 October 2024.

Tell Me Lies follows a toxic relationship happening over eight years, beginning when Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) met Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) at Baird College. Looking forward to her newfound freedom, she intends to maximise whatever experiences that campus life has to offer.
That all changes when Stephen enters the picture. Charming, attractive, complex, and destructive all at once, she falls in love. Being at a formative age when seemingly mundane choices lead to irreversible heartbreaks and traumas, she discovers that revolving her life around someone who’s bad for her will take its toll.
While their relationship begins like any typical campus romance, they develop an addictive entanglement that will permanently alter not only their lives but the lives of the people they care about. Ultimately, their passionate but damaging relationship ruins everyone close to them.
Over the years, they navigate the slippery slope of bad romance. They may have a bond that’s so intense but what it is is actually unstable, so while Lucy and Stephen discuss exclusivity, it’s apparent that the latter is still drawn to his ex-girlfriend, Diana (Alicia Crowder).
In Season 2, we’ll find Lucy back at Baird, thrilled for what her sophomore year has in store for her. She’s ready to start fresh and forget her destructive past with Stephen. Intent on showing that she’s moved on, she will attempt to spark new romance with Leo, played by Thomas Doherty.
The Season 1 finale also dropped a big surprise: when Lucy and Stephen crossed paths again in 2015 to attend Bree and Evan’s wedding, it was revealed that Stephen is engaged to Lucy’s best friend from back home, Lydia. This, of course, sets the stage for Season 2.
Created by Meaghan Oppenheimer (Queen America, We Are Your Friends), Tell Me Lies is an elaborate tale of love gone wrong and the life-changing consequences it entails. Oppenheimer also serves as executive producer and showrunner, alongside Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss.

Cast of Tell Me Lies Season 2
Tell Me Lies stars Grace Van Patten as Lucy and Jackson White as Stephen. Supporting cast includes Catherine Missal as Bree and Branden Cook as Evan.
Season 2 also introduces new cast members, including Lucifer actor Tom Ellis, who plays the role of Oliver. Thomas Doherty is also cast to play Lucy’s new love interest, Leo.
